A Spiders Thread

A near-death encounter survived is always worth a little jive. This touching animation was born out of musical inspiration. Musician Patrick Dexter initially created a "musical miniature” dedicated to a spider’s persistence, inspired variously by the creatures he and his daughter noticed in their rural home and by the Japanese children’s story Kumo no ito. Animator and filmmaker Ella Sando subsequently responded to this piece and to the source materials' themes of selflessness, community and kindness.
