Madrid and London - two historic cities at the heart of Europe, past, present and future.
Following on from its support of the Kazuo Ishiguro scripted Living, County Hall Arts is pleased to announce its call for feature film story ideas - for potential development into a screenplay to be produced as a major feature film.
Ideas must be focused on and inspired by the theme of "A Tale of Two Cities - Madrid & London”. We’re seeking human and humane stories featuring a kaleidoscope of characters set between these two capital cities.
Charles Dickens’ classic is a reference in terms of its scale, ambition and our goal of creating a timeless, ‘Cross Culture' masterpiece - not necessarily with regard to its story, characters and world.
In the first instance, CHA would like to receive Outline ideas of up to 2 pages - stories should be contemporary and entitled “A Tale of Two Cities - Madrid & London”.
This Call is open to established writers, newcomers and those in between - we’re looking for writing which moves, entertains and informs with a distinctive voice.
Shortlisted entrants will be contacted and a screenplay writing sample requested - from there the final selection will be made.
The idea which is ultimately chosen to progress to script stage will be awarded a development budget of up to €100,000 - to fund writing fees and other development costs. The selected writer will be supported by CHA’s filmmaking team.
Please submit your ideas via the Online Submission Form below - after first reading the Terms and Conditions.
Good luck - we look forward to reading your work!
