El Hortelano

Juan Manuel Etxeberria was born next to the Santa Teresa convent in San Sebastián in the 1950s and came to work there as its gardener decades later. In between, he worked 35 years as a fisherman in the seas nearby. In this touching film, Juan shares stories from his life and talks of how his love for the ocean transformed into a commitment to the convent, its nuns and their garden.
