LOVE & PEACE: A MUSICAL PRAYER - FLUTE QUARTET CONCERT

County Hall Arts is delighted to present Love & Peace: A Musical Prayer in County Hall's historic Council Chamber on the evening of Monday 29th June 2026.

This special concert brings together an evocative programme of music reflecting themes of remembrance, resilience, love and hope, spanning contemporary works, beloved classics and lyrical cinematic music.

The quartet comprises four acclaimed musicians. Eminent Japanese flautist Mika Enjo joins us from Kyoto especially for this occasion, alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra’s co-principal cello Miwa Rosso and Juan Manuel Gonzalez Hernandez on violin (also former leader of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra in Guadalajara) as well as Natalia Solis Paredes (a regular with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the County Hall Quartet).

Alongside Mozart’s luminous Flute Quartet in A Major, audiences will hear music by Astor Piazzolla, Nino Rota and Edward Elgar.  A recent commission by emerging composer Bracha Bdil and Mika’s own Odyssey: A Journey of the Heart will also be performed.

Set against the grandeur of London's County Hall on the South Bank overlooking the River Thames, the concert offers an intimate musical journey through reflection, tenderness and celebration. The expressive combination of flute, violin, viola and cello creates a uniquely warm and transparent sound world, capable of both delicate lyricism and vibrant energy.
