The County Hall Bear

County Hall Arts (CHA) is delighted to announce its latest creative call. We’re seeking design proposals for the “The County Hall Bear”, a character mascot befitting of the historic County Hall on London’s Southbank. A Winner’s Prize of €50,000 is on offer.

The multifarious Bear has intrigued, charmed and occasionally terrified humankind for centuries.

From a cute cuddly toy to grizzlies roaming wild, beloved fictional characters to a national emblem, the ubiquitous Bear’s popularity and appeal spans generations.

Eight species of Bear are found in a wide variety of habitats throughout the world, in different shapes, sizes and colours.

CHA is looking for mascot designs for an unimaginably loveable Bear unlike any other existing famous Bear character. So, no clothes, hat or other human-like accessory. We’re looking for a natural Bear as nature intended. Such originality and distinctiveness is integral to this call.
