When You Smile
As winter wears on, musician Patrick Dexter reminds us to let moments of connection brighten our lives.
All it takes is a smile...
When You Smile
By Patrick Dexter
I took a walk
Feeling lonesome
Down the hallways of my mind
I met a girl there
Eyes like sapphires
She turned to me and she smiled
And my whole word was shaken
All my blues fading away
Now the sunshine was blinding
And I couldn't remember the rain
When she smiled…
A woman driving
A bright red sports car
Down the fast lane of her mind
She sees a young girl
Eyes like rainbows
Turns to her and she smiles
And her whole word was shaken
All her blues fading away
Now the sunshine was blinding
And she couldn't remember the pain
When she smiled…
A young man strolling
World on his shoulders
Down the highway of his mind
He sees and old man
Eyes look familiar
Turns to him and smiles
And his whole word is shaken
All his blues fading away
Now the sunshine was blinding
He couldn't remember the pain
When he smiled…
It can take a moment
It’s where kindness starts
Smile, mend a broken heart
When you smile
